Hi!
My name is Jessica and I am 12 years old. I’m in sixth
grade and go to middle school. I have “just right” OCD.
That’s
when you can’t stop doing things until they feel “just
right.” I have two pets. One is a wheaten terrier named
Molly,
and one is a teddy-bear hamster named
Honey. My OCD started when I was three. I went
through three therapists before I found the right one. It
was very annoying. Once a week, my mom drives me down to see
my therapist. It takes forever to get there, but it’s
worth it. Once a month, I meet with other kids who have OCD.
My group does something different each time. When we meet,
we talk about our type of OCD and what we’re doing to
fight it. We also make sure we have fun together. Some of
our favorite places to go are the zoo and the ice cream store.
